Locus 3.11.2 crashes while changing map theme

Solved

Hi,

When I try to change theme of an offline vector map (via map menu, with onscreen tab or via quick settings), the Locus Pro 3.11.2 crashes (Sony Xperia Z1 Compact, Android 5.0.2).

The issue appeared first time after upgrade to 3.11.2 today. It worked fine on previous versions (with the same maps).

My offline vector maps are located on SD card. However they were on SD card also with previous Locus versions and the theme changing worked fine.

Please help - I'm going hiking on Sunday !

best regards,

Alexej

Good day Alexej,

did you changed settings of your custom SD card directory (for vector maps) in Locus?

Anyway best is to create a log: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:how_to_create_debug_log , this should help here.

Hello Menion,

First of all, thanks a lot for the quick response!

In the pre-3.11.2 version (don't remember what was the last one) I have created a folder on my SD card: [/storage/sdcard1/LocusData/MapsVector], customized the default directory for offline vector maps in Locus respectively and have moved all my offline maps there.

That worked fine (including the theme change) !

After upgrade to 3.11.2 today I've noticed that the "default path" menu for three items you've released for SD card usage (offline maps, backup and SRTM) has changed - it's a different mask now.

Anyway, after upgrade, I've ensured that the default directory is correct, i.e. [/storage/sdcard1/LocusData/MapsVector]. And all my maps are loading properly (they wouldn't if the path would be wrong).

The only issue I have is that when I try to change a theme (on any of my maps), the following happens:

- after pressing the "theme" button (in map menu, on the onscreen tab or in the quick settings) there is no reaction at all.

- when I then press any other button, my Locus Pro crashes with the message "Unfortunately Locus Pro has stopped".

A log (bug report) you've requested is attached to this comment.

If you've troubles to get it here, I've also shared it with you (support.locus@asamm.com) on my Google Drive:

Thank you in advance!

Hello Menion,

Some more details after I played with it a little bit:

1. In Locus I've reset the "mapsVector" directory to default, which is in the internal phone memory, i.e [/storage/emulated/0/Locus/mapsVector] and moved all my maps from the SD card to that directory in the internal memory.

Map theme change works! (as well as everything else)

2. In Locus I've changed the "mapsVector" directory back to my customized one, which is on SD card, i.e [/storage/sdcard1/LocusData/MapsVector] and moved all my maps from the internal memory to that customized directory.Map theme change doesn't work anymore and results in Locus crash!

In the pre-3.11.2 versions of Locus everything worked properly (including map theme change), although the same maps were located in the same customized directory on SD card, i.e. [/storage/sdcard1/LocusData/MapsVector].

No changes have been made to the phone settings or Android OS - I used map theme change yesterday with the previous Locus version without any problems and it stopped working today after Locus' upgrade to 3.11.2.

I hope it helps you to investigate.

best regards,

Alexej

Good day Alexej,

log helper partially, thank you for it anyway. From log was not exactly clear, why this problem happen. Anyway I hope I found a small problem that should solve your issue.

Currently on Google Play may be already available 3.11.3 version of Locus Map, so please try to update and let me know. Really hope it will work.

Hi Menion,

3.11.3 has solved the issue and you saved my day !

Also backup to SD card works properly now (proper zip, not zip.tmp - I have not reported this problem, although I noticed it).

Thank you very much !

I love Locus !

Servus,

Alexej
