Download purchased locus map did not work

Not a Problem

Hello,

I have an issue to download an allready purchased locus map to my smartphone.

It is the map from spain, the download to my tablet samsung galaxy tab (GT-P3110) works fine, but the download to my smartphone LG L90 did not start.

I have allready purchased maps from czech republic and germany on booth devices, and everything was fine.

The smartphone has free internal storage from appr. 1.2 GB, this should be more than enough.

any Idea?

Thanks!!

Best Regards

Olaf

Hi Olaf,

would you please give me more information? Was downloading successful? Can you see the map in list of offline maps on your LG Smartphone? What happen if you select the map to display it?

Thank you

Petr

Hello again,

the problem is still existing. If I try to download a map, the status is "please wait", and then nothing happens. If I look at the "currently downloads", I can see the names of the maps with the status "not succesful". If I press "continue download", the status is again "please wait", and nothing happens.

Some Informations regarding my Cellphone:

Model: LG-L90 ( LG-D405)

Android 5.0.2

appr. 1 GB free memory

Hello Olaf,

The free memory is very "close" . For downloading of Spain map you need about 1.1GB of free space. Map itself has about 650 MB but locus downloads zipped archive that have 460 MB. This zip archive is unpacked and deleted. So map itself has 650MB but for downloading is needed mentioned 1.1GB. However Locus verifies the free space before downloading.

I'd like to ask you for:

1. Open Menu > Settings > Misc >Default directories > check that directory "mapsVector" is located in internal memory

2. Please create log file> Start downloading and then try to collect debug lof. How to is described in: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:how_to_create_debug_log

Thank you

Petr

Hello Olaf,

Are you still facing this issue or can we close the ticket (due to inactivity)? Were you able to create the debug log?

Thanks Petr

Hello Petr,

unfortunately is there still this issue. Today I tried to buy the update for the "Berlin" map, this are only 50 MB unzipped. I have 722 MB free memory, this should be enough in my opinion. I press download, and then I can see the progess bar, with the changing colours, an few minutes later I can see the message "not successful" instead of the progress bar.

In the android status menu I see a small download picture with the status Berlin Maps 0.00kB / 29.35 MB.

In the current download menu from Locus I see the same Informations - Berlin - LoMaps not successful.

I tried to create the log file, but nothing happens - maybe because there is no crash? Everything else is fine, only this issue with purchasing of maps did not work, I bought a map on my tablet, no problems at all.

Hi Olaf,

thank you for update. Would you please check that the folder for vector maps is located in the internal memory?

Open Menu > Settings > Misc >Default directories > check that directory "mapsVector" is located in internal memory

Hello again,

yes, maybe there is the reason - mapsvector is located in external_SD. I can work with maps in external SD, but I have to buy them to internal memory, is this right? Is it necessary to push the maps from external to internal memory, if I want buy other maps or do updates? My problem is, that my internal memory is to small for Germany, Czech Republic and Spain.

Thanks for your support

Hi Olaf,

ohh yes that the reason of your complication. Locus can read the vector maps from SDcard but can not write maps on the SDcard. For this reason you can not update them. However there are two possibilities:

- set vector map folder to the internal memory > update maps > move maps back to the SDcard and set it for vector maps

- you can set vector map folder into internal memory and then add folder with vector maps as external folder via Menu > Maps > PLUS button > add external maps. Unfortunately you can not check the updates for vector maps (LoMaps) with this workaround. Please section C for more info http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:use_sdcard_on_kitkat#solution

I'm sorry for it

Regards Petr
