Hi.

I often use Line tools to plan shooting. Is it possible to add ability to copy Bearing from Line tools? It will be very usefull for me.

Hello Sergey,

so you need to copy this computed parameter. And what to do with it next? You wants to use this value in another Android application? Seems you have really specific use-case as I still can't imagine usage of this.

I use it to plan shoots with supertele lenses (800-1600mm) and to determine exact location from which another photographer shoot a scene. I know about line intersection tool, but with field of view 3-10 degrees two lines is not enough to determine exact locations. Sometimes I need to draw 5-8 lines to get location.

Good day Sergey,

I'm still not sure, how you wants to use text copied to clipboard from Locus, in the field.

Two extra questions:

1. we are talking about shooting a photos, not an animal hunting, right?

2. imagine I'll understand what you wants to achieve, then simple long click on computed value to copy it to clipboard should be enough for your use-case?

1. About shooting photos.

2. Yes, it will be enough.

Thanks!

My workflow:

For example I need to plot 6 lines to determine exact location for photoshoot (If I use wideangle lens I can use line intersection tool, but with telephoto lens I need >2 lines).

If I plan to deremine exact location for cityscape photography I mark tall buidings that I want to place in my photo and place this marks in Locus as points.

Line 1 - points A1, A2, Line 2 - points B1,B2 .... Line 6 - points F1, F2.

Then I plot lines. Line tool -> Line 1 -> select A1 as first point, then select A2 as second point, then remeber bearing between A1 - A2, then set second point as projection of point A1 with memorized bearing and distance for example 10km. Then repeat this sequence for the remaining lines. So it will be useful for me to copy bearing to clipboard and then paste in projection.

Oki, understand, thanks.

Usually I need a bigger interest in certain ideas. This one will be used probably by only a single person on the world. Anyway because it is a task on a while and result won't be visible for users, then why not.

So in next version, long click on distance or bearing copy this value into clipboard. You are welcome.
