Good day M.K.

I've changed your idea to a "problem" as it looks more like this. May you please give me link to some "lab cache" that do not work correctly in Locus so I may check it? Because they should be already supported and work as expected. Thanks.

here is a link to some lab caches and screenshots.

i created a new folder in locus. imported the .gpx file. now i opened one lab cache. now i only can see main information.

in cgeo i can see the detailed descriptions. look both photos!

sorry for my bad english. i hope you are understanding.

Good day M.K ,

where you get this GPX file? Because Locus cannot consider this cache as a valid cache, because cache has no "code". Without "cache code", Locus is unable work with a point as with a cache and use it as common point.

So in your waypoints are two errors:

1) here needs to be a cache code

  1. <wpt lat="47.3911" lon="-121.391816666667">
  2. <name>GC12345</name>

2. type of cache needs to be just "Lab Cache", not a "Geocache|Lab Cache"

Then it should work. Correct me if I'm wrong.

So at the moment Locus only supports caches from Geocaching.com with GC Codes?

No caches from e.g. Opencaching.de with OC-Codes, no opencaching.com with OX-Codes, no NaviCaches with NC-Caches, etc...?

I think reading only "GC or not GC" GC is not enough.

Why can't you integrate a list?

Now:

If GC####, than handle it as a geocache

Better:

If GC#### or LB#### or..... , than handle it as a geocache

Locus handle more then GC**, these lab caches anyway do not have even LB***, they have no code at all!

Hm, all my downloaded lab caches hat this LB****-Code.

Where did you get yours from?

Here http://help.locusmap.eu/topic/lab-caches#comment-27159 , same result with own download from labs.geocaching.com.

these are original lab cache .gpx file by labs.geocaching.com

you are right. labcaches only "code" starts with "LB....." geocaches with "GC...."

but locus shows the coordinates, but not the detail description like my uploaded picture by cgeo.

when you open the .gpx file with notepad you can read .... <groundspeak:long_description html="false">Stop by Mr. Gadget's pop up shelter on the event grounds and try your hand at one of his latest creations. You will get to "test drive" his wonderful field puzzle caches before they are put out in the wild. Once you solve the puzzle, you will be rewarded with the code!-Welcome to the WSGA's 2015 Going Ape Adventure!!! This lab adventure is part of the 2015 Going Ape Mega Event which takes place on Sunday August 16, 2015. This is our 6th year of hosting this event and this year we are hosting 5 ape lab adventures that will take you around the Hyak-Snoqualmie Tunnel area which is the location of the mega event. We hope you enjoy the event as the Ape adventure!</groundspeak:long_description>

............

why doesn`t show this description in locus? because the GC code there isn`t?

is it possible to edit locus for that problem?

Hi,

I see. Did not know about such page. Quite a big problem. As I wrote before, GC Code is essential for Locus to work with caches. Without it, point is just a "point", not a "cache". Problem with icon may be solved, but for now, I have no idea how to solve missing cache code without some major changes in app. For now, sorry, I have no solution for this, but I'll be thinking about it.

:(

icon i did create a custom icon for labcaches.

i hope the problem will solved in near future. so long as i use cgeo for labcaches.

thank you so much for your help.

have a nice day

cheers M.K.

me again,

now i have a solution. :)))

1: download the .gpx file by labs.geocaching.com

2: import .gpx file in gsak

3: export .gpx file

4: .gpx file import to locus

i have no idea what happend. now the description will shows. the labcaches after import to locus still have the code "LB...."

maybe this an idea for the next locus update. ;)

Hello M.K.

thanks for a tip. Seems that GSAK is generating cache code on it's own. Don't know exact method how they generate it so values will be different in Locus anyway since next version Locus will also handle these lab caches.

Thanks for a report, issue solved.
