Multi Cache Solver: Export / Import possible?

Mathias Dittrich shared this question 7 years ago
Answered

I've changed my smartphone and want to ask, if it is somehow possible to import all my Multi Cache Solver topics from the old one?

I have found the "Share" Button, but html export/import inside the Add On seems not to work.

Is there a database somewhere in the file system?

Good day Mathias,

unfortunately it looks like developer of this add-on is not active on this help desk (he is not a part of team behind Locus Map itself).

Please try to contact him on Google+ web page of mentioned add-on here: https://plus.google.com/communities/113063786196810493588

Thank you for understanding.

Update to the lastest version of the addon (0.70 since this morning).

Open die Addon from launcher and select all caches using long touch.

Use share button at the to and share to Google Drive.

Open Google Drive on the new device and search for your save file.

Click open and select the addon for the action.

Now the import screen should appear and present all caches found in the save file.

Import them.

This is also the prefered (easiest) way to make backups of your caches.

Thanks for the answers.

But it's still not finally working. Export of txt to dropbox on old devices works fine. when openeng the file on new device iasking who to open. I select Multi Solver, but then there is just opening a blue screen with "Cache solver: Import Caches" on top bar.

Nothing more is happen.

EDIT: Tried to open the txt in the old devices: thats working.! (Samsung S4)

But nothing is happening on the brand new Honor 8 :(

Have you tried the 0.70 version? Older versions have a MIME type check, that sometimes fails depending on the sending application. Not sure what dropbox sends, but my tests with google drive worked fine.

Found the mistake:

Multi Cache solver had no authorisation to read mass storage. Now its working fine. But if possible, please add an option to import all at one time. It's an bit annpying to import very single cache for its own :D

What version of Android do you use on your new device?

Why didn't have the addon the correct rights?

The Import-All-Button is on my list, yes.

I'm using an Honor 8 with Android 6.0

Th problems seems to be EMUI 4.1 . You have to allow every authorizazion for it's own. Normally I'm getting a popup when an app want to access to something.

Bot not in this case, so I had to allow it by myself inside the settings.

This should be fixed in 0.72. In Android 6 (and above) the solver cannot read files from external storage without requesting permission. This request was missing as my tests with Google Drive always worked. Dropbox sends its files with other methods, so this was not working. The addon should now properly request the permissions.
