Distance by draw a line in freestyle

Today we can measure the distance, either in a straight line between two points (new feature) or by measuring straight lines by creating dots (eg along a road). If the road is curved, one must add many points.

Is it possible to make a feature where you draw a line freehand (eg along a path) and thus measure the distance?

The program needs to figure out how long this drawen line is and then calculate it according to the scale.

(By the way, the new feature by measuring with two fingers, then it is fine if the calipers can hang back a little bit after the fingers are taken away, so that we can see a little more precisely what was measured).

Good day Fred,

please try to enable function, that allows to measure distance and tap on third button from left > route compute dialog . This allows to get computed track along the road without need for some "freehand" drawing. Let me know if this is sufficient for you.

Yes, this is a good feature, but I think it doesn't work in wild nature where there are no trails in the map (or Brouter).

In this case, you are of course correct, it won't work.

Does work. By route and measure (Brouter). Start design, use autorouter for areas and paths that are routable, only needs a few (via)points, when arrived on non routed area, switch autorouter off and proceed manual design by placing several reference (via)points until arrived again on routable area, switch on autorouter and so on and on.
