Hello,

will there be any replacement for old Panoramio service? Because sometimes the Panoramio service was very useful.

Thanks in advance

Good day Nicolai,

we were not yet thinking about it to be true. From what I've discusses with one user, there is an known nice alternative Mapillary ( https://www.mapillary.com/ ). Not sure if there is more such services ... any suggestion?

I think Google earth has much pictures with GPS tags. Would it be possible to show these pictures in Locus?

I'm checking Google Earth and you mean a category "Gallery"? There is many options below it, so which one is interesting from your point of view?

I think that Google Earth itself do not provide any database of photos. Photos visible in Google Earth are from some external sources that Google Earth only display. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh I'm sorry Menion!

I just saw that the pictures from Google earth are from the panoramio database.

Google is so stupid. Why the hell did they stop the panoramio service? That was so an useful feature for me and no other database have so much geotagged photos as panoramio.

No need to sorry!

I was even not aware that behing Panoramio service was Google, funny. Anyway in light of this, I'm not so surprised. Google already (many times) closed an interesting services, so this one is just one of many.

Anyway if you discover any easy-to-use, interesting, photo service, feel free to write me here, I'll check it's options for app like Locus Map.

I just saw, that the Photo-service Flickr from Yahoo has some nice geotagged photos. This could be an good alternative for panoramio

I just found an much better alternative:

mapsights.com has almost all photos that were available on Panoramio. It would be the perfect alternative!

Good day Nicolai,

mapsights.com seems to grab all data from Panoramio (maybe they violated Terms of Use of panoramio service) anyway they seems not to provide any API for developers, so it is not possible to use them.

FLickr anyway may be used because they have public API , so question for me is if it worth a time. As I see, here on helpdesk does not exists an idea about "Flickr" support, so feel free to create one if you consider this as globally usable feature for more users. Thanks
