Hi,

I`m playing with export to GPSies from Locus and all works correctly for me. After pressing "Check" button, I receive positive response.

so, may you please check your name and password again? Also, contain your name or pass any special character?

Hi,

i tried it again. But the check failed.

After that I made a complete new installation of locus, but the result was the same after pressing the check button.

There is no special character in the name or the password. I also tried my email address with no response

hmm, weird

I created testing account

username: locusmaptest

password: locusmaptest

tested and working. Please try it also. If also this will not work for you correctly, we should try some debuging with testing version ...

Hello,

sorry that I answer so late.

I tried your test account and it worked.

With my account I can login to the goodies website, but the export to goodies via locus still doesn`t work.

I created a new account but this also doesn`t work!?!

Are there settings in goodies or something else I can try?

Do you use Locus Free or Locus Pro?

I use Locus Pro.

Hi,

no problem with late response, I was just curious if this issue still exist. So, you want to say that when you use account I created, there is no problem with login and exporting tracks from Locus right? Ah I see one track near Munich, so it will be probably yours.

and when you use your account, or you create new one, there is still same problem. Hmm interesting. Seems to be more probably issue on gpsies web page. Anyway, you say you create second account which also not work, so may you send me, probably on email locus@asamm.com, access credentials to this account and I`ll check some responses from gpsies server?

PS: also thanks for help starman, anyway In this case is not important version. GPSies is supported in both versions

Hi,

I have tried another thing and it works :-)

The password of the main the second account was only numeric. I changed it to a mixture of letters and numbers and it`s also important to type the letters in capital letters, if they are. It locks like that the communication to gpsies is case sensitive. Sorry for my bad English and thanks for your help and your great work with locus ;-)

OK, perfect ... good information!

Glad it works now

Hi I also had same problem when using letters and figures for PW. I changed to letters, figures and special characters - and it worked.

New Problem: Umlaute (ä, ö, ü,...) are wrongly recognized in Gpsies. Do not know, if its a problem of Gpsies or the interface.

If you could check pls ?

thanks

Hi,

I`m faced with the same problem. Neither user name nor email-address together with my password works. I get a negative response, when pressing the check button (Überprüfen): "Ungültiger Name oder Passwort". I have numeric and alpha-numeric characters in my password and I take care for capital and lower case characters. Trying to Exort anyway, sometimes gives positive response, sometimes negative ("ERROR Locus [Bitte gib einen Track Schlüssel ein...]"). But I never receive any tracks at GPSies

I`m newbie to Locus and GPSies. May be I forgot anything else?

Thanks and best regards,

Rüdiger

as your`re first name contains a german umlaut may I ask if you avoided these kind of characters in both username and password?

yes, I did - even in a forums username as you can see...

did you first create an account in GPSIES which you can use in Locus for export than. Try to use letters, numerics and special characters like @&_-... for password, For me it helped.

thanks for replying! I created the account in GPSies and I can use it there. My password contains capital and lower case characters and even one of those special characters you mentioned...

...and is also contains a numeric char....

hmm, weird. For name I only use my given Gpsies name, not my E-mail.

I tried several times to export, all with success.

Maybe there is something in a Locus-cache, but this Menion only can answer.

My knowledge ends here, sorry.

Hi Rued,

I`m checking code and there is maybe one place where login should not work correctly with special characters. I did some improvement, so check please next version and let me know in case of troubles.

Great! Thanks, but there is only one special character in my password, which is a "_".

...not most import, just as question:

Is it possible to store login and password data?

Is there a way in Locus to send differential track data perodically or by covered distance to GPSies or elswhere? This would allow others (with granted access) to track position and allow them to help in case of accident, etc...

you mean something like this? https://getsatisfaction.com/locus/top...?

this is feature that I started today :) slowly ..

Exactly! I see: the right idea at the right time :-)

Basic functionalty may be found at MyLiveTracker (@google play). Perhaps you can share knowledge or Locus can use this app as a kind of plugin or something like that... - instead of inventing the wheel again and again...

I did not yet try it myself. I don`t like to use (and run simultaneously) to much apps.

There are ideas a lot as triggering transmission from remote, receiving track-/positiondata on the smartphone (Locus), etc. But you`re absolutely right: Slowly! Haste makes waste!

Apart from parameters and functionality, most important things might be security and the question of the remote site. For me as newbie to gps tracking, maps, etc. the amount of S/W, apps and formats available is a jungle...
