Offline maps only visible with high zoomlevel, when offline

Hi,

Haven't found the answer to my question yet.

I can use downloaded offline maps (openandromaps and Germany LoMap) without any limitation as long as I'm online. However, when I'm offline I can use the offline maps only with a minimum zoomlevel (don't know the number, but the scale indicator is 20km). If I would like to see larger areas (e.g. complete germany) I get the message "verbindung fehlgeschlagen" (connection error). How to fix this? (The openandromap works in oruxmaps without issues)

Thanks

Lars

Hi Lars,

go to the Locus store.

Find the "World Base Map".

Download to device for offline use.

Hi,

Thanks, however, this does not solve the issue, still the same error message when I zoom out when I have no internet connection

Interestingly this issue appears on my galaxy tab but not on my moto g4 play. I can't remember that I did something differently when I installed the app.

Good day Lars,

fact that you see "Connection error" message means, that you for sure do not use these downloaded maps. They should really work offline for all possible zoom levels.

Please check if map is correctly selected in Map Manager > tab "Offline". Or you may simply tap on top Locus title on main map screen and choose a "map" option. Then you should see in top, currently selected map.

Please check also our manual page here: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:basics:offlinemaps

Hope this helps.

The maps are listed under the offline tab and the correct map is listed in the locus title.

I can use these maps offline as long as I do not zoom out, I could scroll to a different location miles away...

As mentioned, it works on my moto g4 play, I will reinstall the app on my galaxy tab and see if it helps

Still check:

Menu, settings, maps, offline maps, general world map, turn off, (disable)

Ah @Condor you mean Lars had selected any online map as a world map? Damn, you know Locus Map better than me, thanks too! :)
