Opacity slider for the Overlays layer directly on the main map screen

Lux Calor shared this idea 6 years ago

İndispensable when overlaying satellite maps, comparing different maps for missing data, or anything layer wise, really.

Now to change the opacity one has to open the Overlay dialog and guess the transparency over dimmed screen. Not very convenient, let alone quick.

Good idea, I also want this option.

Also - when in the overlay mode, move the slider in one and the other direction, then in the extreme positions the maps are displayed in darkened. This worsens their perception, I think than willl be more useful if in the extreme left and right positions the compared maps will be displayed in their original view and in the best quality.

+1 ... difficult to implement ?

All Ideas".

This is kind of done in Locus 4. Not exactly always present onscreen slider, but still nice.

Thank you Lux, I've forgotten to inform in this topic.

It is correct, the "Overlays" dialog was reworked in Locus Map 4 as you may see on the screenshot below.

Thank you for a great application and listening to your users, Menion. Much appreciated.

BTW, while we are at it :), two things I constantly wish to change in this Map Overlay Dialog are:

1. Change map overlay by just tapping on the map name, as everywhere else in Locus, instead of "change map" or "set" buttons. I do it ALL the time.

2. Ability to change base map from this very dialog. I work with layers a lot and this would really make this feature much more convenient and useful.

Tanks again and keep up the good work.

I would also suggest reducing the huge empty spaces between the lines to make the control panel as low as possible.

I would suggest reducing the huge gaps between the lines to make the control panel as low as possible.

Remove the line "Visibility", it's clear to everyone why the slider is needed.

Place the labels "Blend Mode" and "Max re-scile" to the left of the selection window.

The information from the word "Overlay" to the "CHANGE MAP" button should also be placed in one line.

In maps, it is always important to view as many maps as possible.

I agree, UI could be optimized a bit.
