"Simple multi touch" does not deactivate pseudo-3d

joeloc shared this problem 11 years ago
Not a Problem

I have "simple multi touch" activated in settings/mapcontrol. At least according to the german translation, this should disable rotation and pseudo-3d when using two fingers. Rotation is disabled nicely, but the pseudo-3d mode still gets activated. And it gets activated accidently a lot, especially when doing pinch&zoom on a moving bike. This sucks a bit, because pseudo-3d doesnt really work and turns the whole display into a completely messed up rubbish very easily.

Pseudo-3d should really be disabled when the simple-setting is enabled in map-control. Or maybe it should be disabled completely until it actually works? :)

On a related note: using "negative" options in settings (ie "disable" something) will always be counter intuitive. Locus should use the "positive" option, eg in this case I would simply call it:

o Enable two-finger rotation and panning

Or make it two options... in fact they dont really have anything to do with each other:

o Enable two-finger rotation

o Enable two-finger panning

Stefan, aren`t you testing this in test version? In real working market version, this is of course disabled!

And about options ... I also heard this from jusc or someone other a long time ago. Since then I`m trying to make all settings like this. Anyway this one is pretty old so it`s still in this "not much senceless mode" - opposite then you should expect

EDIT: hey it`s pretty weird ... this pseudo 3D should work only in my private version then how it`s possible that it works for you also? Mystery ... anyway enjoy neverending lines and weird shapes :D

Pro version from market has it disabled, that is true.

I am only using testing version right now because it is so much faster. Testing version has it enabled, regardless of the prefs setting. And it produces funny colorful lines indeed :).
