A forest missing on a vector map display

Jacek Konieczny shared this problem 11 years ago
Solved

I have downloaded a vector map of Poland from http://www.vectormaps4locus.eu/ and installed it in Locus. It mostly works well, but one forest I like visiting, is missing.

It is Las Dąbrowa, here: http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=50....

I have tested the same map file with the AdvancedMapViewer.apk from the mapsforge site and the forest is displayed properly there.

Hehe, this is funny ;)

When did you download it?

Are you using a special theme?

Cheers

I have downloaded the map yesterday.

MD5 sums:

678cc47704a242a84b81374a806f6abc poland.osm.map

828ca203b5b130a72988f4c3228cee63 poland.zip

The map works correctly in AdvancedMapViewer, but not in Locus.

I am using current Locus PRO from Google Play (Android Market) – version 2.3.1. No special themes (I didn`t even know I can change themes), no special configuration changes, I guess.

Fine, so can you go to Locus shop and download an additional vector map theme (they are all free)?

Apply this theme to the map and then switch back to the original osmarender theme...

Any changes?

That worked. Thanks! :)

Perfect ;)

@Menion:

Maybe you want to consider including "Re-Initialize map" (same mechanism as in personal maps) to vector maps too?

hmm don`t understand where was problem. Re-init for vector maps should not be necessary because changing theme clear whole vector maps cache automatically. Don`t understand why your idea helped. Explain please :)

A part of the problems I had several weeks ago had to do with some kind of caching in vector maps, too.

In fact there was a related report on mapsforge google group (I think from brotbuexe) https://groups.google.com/d/topic/map...

I admit that this might not be a proper explanation of the problem described here.

My idea helped, because I`m "Master of Locus" now! :P

It was just about thinking backwards.

- newest vector map version

- checksums were ok

- other apps and other devices are working with the same map file

=> problem on single device

+ so it had to be a quick way, to re-init or clear cache, find out the next step

+ luckily not needed :D

Ah and sometimes, i just know, how you`re coding and how your mechanisms are working ;)
