Access to the Locus folder

Answered

Hello,

I installed Locus Map Pro on my tablet and on my mobile.

I created an offline map on my tablet.

Instead of recreating this map on my mobile, I wanted to make a copy from my tablet to go faster.

I have connected my tablet to my PC to access the folder "Locus/maps".

Unable to access the Locus folder, the Windows File Explorer considers it empty.

This is an operation that I usually do with Oruxmap.

Thanks for the explanation

Hello,

have you connected your tablet to PC via USB ?

Please try to do it via FTP and WIFI

e.g.

Thanks.

I will try it but this is a way which seems to me very tortuous.

This is the first time I see a folder on my tablet inaccessible via a USB connection.

Do you know the explanation?

Correction last minute :

what I write above is true only with my tablet.

I just tried with my mobile : no problem

believe me, it´s easy to transfer data via FTP > two clicks no wire connection, have fun

>Do you know the explanation?

Media Transfer Protocol (MTP)

some manufacturer allow only datatransfer for media files via USB.

I noticed this one year ago try using USB to transfer .gpx files

in following thread you find also one working solution (video) using TC on the mobile with USB to PC

http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=5162.msg43360#msg43360

since then i do all my data transfer with FTP ;-))

Hi Alain,

Wolfgang has already advised what you need (thanks @balloni55!) but I have another tip - try copying the map to you mobile via Dropbox - no wiring, no FTP setting up and you have your map with you as a backup anywhere in the World.

I suposed that it was also possible via Google Drive. I will try both of them

Yes, I finally succeeded with Google Drive

But it is still more complicated than a simple copy-paste
