App hangs in initialization after buying Pro

In Progress

Hi,

on my Nexus 7 tablet, I was quite happy using the free version of Locus. So happy indeed that I decided to buy the Pro version in the play store. Now, when I try to start the Pro version for the first time, it asks me to accept the Terms & Conditions, and afterwards hangs indefinitely in a screen titled "Initialisierung..." (i.e. "Initialization...") with an infinite progress bar labeled "Bearbeite..." (roughly "Processing..."). I've alredy tried waiting, stopping/starting the app, reinstalling the app, rebooting the device, removing all Locus maps and settings from internal storage (the device does not have an SD card) and now I'm stuck, I really would love to use my shiny new pro version!

Cheers,

David

Dear David.

Thank you for your email.

A few days ago this problem in Locus app has occured.

We will do our best to solve this problem to the next Locus version.

In the meantime, I can refund your payment for Locus app.

Please, let me know your decision.

Kind regards

Hana

If you're aware of the problem and actively working on it, I can wait for the next version, no problem (I can still use the free version on the tablet and the pro version on a different device), just keep us informed on the progress!

I will inform you about progress. Thank you David for your patience!

Same problem here - Asus Zenfone Z00AD. Very frustrating - when I actually need the app after some time to use it during my vacation abroad, it does not work. Can you please indicate when the fix is due? Thanks a lot.

Good day guys,

please give a vote into new created topic here (to get updates from our side): http://help.locusmap.eu/topic/problem-with-locus-map-pro-initialization-at-startup , all is described there. Really sorry for the complications!

The workaround described in that topic does not work for me, I downgraded the Google Play Store app, went to settings, clicked on the build version, but after I confirmed the following dialog about updating, nothing happens.

Edit: Maybe that was too quick. Nothing happens with the play store, no update is installed, but at least I could activate Locus Map now! yay! But am I now stuck on the old play store version?

Second edit: Never mind me, I'm just not patient enough. Both the play store and Locus are now current and working. Thanks!

Dear David,

it seems that there isn't any installation progress when you confirm dialog about updating of Google Play app. Please wait couple minutes and check build version again. It should be 10.06.08

I've also downgraded to Playstore vers. 6.0.5

Than tried to Install, without success.

Updated to Playstore 10.6.08 and tried to Install again. Without success.

Unfortunatelly the installation progress does interrupt frequently without Code : 506

Dear Joachim,

Thanks for screenshot. Please try:

  • Go to, the Android settings > Apps Google Play Store > Clear Data and Cache
  • Similarly, go to the Google Play Service >>Clear Data and Cache
  • Open Google Play app and try to install Locus again

Hello Petr,

i've tried that, but unfortunatelly without success.

I'll still hope for the Google Play Update :)

But i'm still on PlayStore 10.6.08 and there is no available Update for my Samsung S5 :(

--------------

Edit

I've installed 10.7.19 manualy as apk from the Internet ,

but the Installation of Locus Maps pro does still show the same issues and won't install...

Deer Joachim,

the 10.6.08 is old version that shouldn't be affected with mentioned issue. Would you please downgrade and let app to update itself to the official latest version. But I think that you're affected with different troubles - I mean the error 506. Have you tried to clean cache as I suggested?BR Petr
