BUG: Latest update puts Motorola Moto G II 2014 into a restart loop

Laurents shared this problem 6 years ago
Solved

After installing the latest update (2017-08-09), my phone is put into a restart loop from where I had to break free by booting into safe mode and uninstalling Locus Map Pro for being able to use my device again.

I have been circumnavigating the world by bicycle using the app and never had any problems until today with my device.

Android 6.0.1, Cyanogenmod 13.0, Motorola Moto G II (2014, Titan)

I am a software developer by trait and familiar with android development in general, so if you need further input, feel free to inquire.

Good day Laurents,

sorry to hear about this problem! Same issue happen to me on Galaxy S2 with CM13, but because latest available version is some nightly, I did not give this an attention, mainly because I can't imagine that any app without root access may affect reboot cycle of device.

Anyway thanks for "safe mode" tip, did not know about this option and it really simplify fixing of this issue.

We use one library that protect Locus source code and seems that this update cause these troubles. Version of Locus Map generated with older version of this library cause no troubles on CM 13, perfect.

During today, I'll generated and publish new version, believe it will work without any issues.

I'm really sorry for a complications, thanks for your push and hope Locus will be good companion on your next trips as till today!
