Cannot select map folder on real SD-Card with Android 7

Horst Oloff shared this problem 7 years ago
Solved

When I try to select a map folder the real SD Card does not show up in the files view of Locus Pro for selecting a map folder.

System: Android /

SDCard: 64 GB Samsung SDCard; formated on a PC; works flawlessly e.g. with VLC

Name of External SD-Card in file view of Root Explorer: 0000-0000

Smartphone: Sony Xperia X Compact

Good day Horst,

information about Android version is missing in your post, anyway please try in dialog where you wants to choose SD card ( it is probably dialog from Android system, not from Locus Map ), select top toolbar menu (three dots) and choose "Show SD card". Helps? If not, please post some screenshot how it looks like on your device, thanks.

hello,

it´s Android 7 (as stated in the title) - 7.0

Kernel 3.10.84-perf-g3245575

build 34.2.A.0.266

File view of Root Explorer shows: /storage comprising 0000-0000, emulated, self

File View of Locus shows when called: sdcard->Locus->Maps

It does not show any folders on the root level.

I can use maps on an external SDcard via root explorer when I select to open it with Locus Pro in root explorer

The device is not rooted!!!!

Good day Horst,

I need to understand what you try to do first. You are trying to setup directory for "maps" in settings > misc > default directories > set 'maps/' directory?

In this case, "two dots/one up" button do not move you into root directory of your device?

Hello,

please see annexed screenshots when trying to setup directory for maps:

First Screenshot: at (emulated) SD-Card-level

Second Screenshot: at one level above

BTW: Locus Pro does not seem to be the only program having problems with android version 7 I got for my Xperia X compact. I do have problems or glitches with "Root Explorer", "ftp server" ...

balloni, I take my hat!

Anyway such complicated method ... and Locus on your video indeed do not see root directories on device, really interesting.

You use some custom rom on your SGS2?

@Horst: it's official ROM you are using?

I have six devices on table and no one has yet official update to Android 7, damn ...

Hello,

I´ve got the official version Sony published around Xmas ´16. I do not have a custom ROM. The device is also not rooted.

After the upgrade to Android 7 I made a factory reset.

Hello,

my Workaround is quite simple:

I navigate with root explorer to the maps directory. Then I select to open the map I need with Locus Pro in root explorer.

Locus Pro does not forget the so selected map.

I can select several maps like this and all remain known to Locus Pro.

Hi guys,

I'm currently unable to fix this, so let's make a small workaround (that may be useful not just to solve this issue).

In next verison will be new option "Storages" in menu of Locus file brwoser, that display all found "Storages", like this:

Believe it will be useful.

Good day ballon, Tomasz,

thanks for test balloni, glad it works.

New version 3.21.1 is planned on this week if there won't be any serious troubles.
