Changing default folders

Dear Sirs

I'm using Locus Maps Pro 3.22.2 and I need to change "Exports" folder.

On settings, I changed folder and Locus showed the new one as expected; however, when I export a track, Locus doesn't assume the new folder but the original (default) one and I need to type the new path every time I do it.

There is no problem on the device because I defined also a new "Backups" folder on same memory place and Locus records backup files perfectly.

Is there anything wrong on my procedure ?

Best regards

Good day Armando,

I do not know which version of Android are you using and where you try to define export folder. Unfortunately for now, on Android 5+, only "backup", "data/srtm" and "mapsVector" directories may be set to SD card also for "write access". So in case of "export" directory, it is not now possible to automatically export data to SD card on Android 5.0+. Is this your case?

Hi ! Thank you for your quick answer !

I'm using a tablet with Android 4.4.2 and I defined "Export" folder (or Directorie...) on Locus Settings/Miscellaneous/Default Directories/Set "export/" directory.

However, something very stange happened: I had my Locus in portuguese and I changed language to english in order to repport you with correct english words. When I accessed Locus Settings/Miscellaneous/Default Directories in english, paths, previously on blue, appeared on red and a warning told me there was something wrong with them; I defined exactly same pathes and everything is working fine, even after I changed language to portuguese again. Why ? I don't know !

I've nothing to complaint :-) .

Best regards

Good evening,

ah Android 4.4 is worst, sorry to say it. Since Android 4.4, Google forbidden to write to external SD card without option to use one more complicated, but in some cases usable, method.

Cannot say what went wrong, anyway I really suggest to keep "export" directory on default place in Android 4.4. Not sure why you need to define different directory, but I'm sure that some other apps are able to synchronize content of one directory to another or even to any web cloud service, so I may suggest to use this.

I'm sorry, but I'll probably have no better answer here.

I

No problem: I done it !! Note I wasn't trying to write on SD card but on same "drive" of Locus.

The reason I need another directory is because I export to a sync cloud directory.

As I told you, originally I couldn't do it but after some atempts I done it.

Everything is ok now.

Thank you.
