Coloring option for global gradient v. current localized gradient
Gathering feedback
It would be nice to have the option of setting route coloring for global gradients, like blue -10% and below, fade to green at 0%, fade to red at 10%. It would make comparing routes by visual inspection very quick and easy.
Right now the gradient coloring is done by the local min and max of the route, so all routes have red, blue, etc, which makes it hard to compare routes.
My experience has been the current method of gradient coloring of a track provides no reliable means of knowing how steep/ hard the ride will be. As Sam Park says, the "local min and max" are normalized rather than using absolute gradient thresholds. The result is that most tracks are colored in shades of green, and totally misleading.
