Direkt Navigation for use in Aricraft and balloons or on sail boats

Hi Guys from Locus.

I am great fan of your naviation software and use it regularily.

Is ther e possibility to navigate directly to way points, without following streets and roads? I want too use it on borad balloons, aircraft and sailboats.

Further it would be good to integrate the airspace structure as an overly to the map. The web psite: http://soaringweb.org/Airspace/EU.html offers annual free downloads of the current airspace structures for individual countries. The files come in different versions.

software like VFR Nav allows to mannually install such airspace structures by storing the relevant file in a defined directory.

See attached manual on page 4.

Have a good weekend

Rainer

I can say only that Locus navigation does not depend any streets.

Re. overlay it is worth while looking into the extensive Locus documentation.

The overlay from the web page I am talking about are available in the following format:

txt, sua and pdf. (see attached file)

None of them are suitable overlay formats for Locus.

The map I'd like to see is:

Is there a chance?

Hello Rainer

i am also a hot air pilot last25 years, area of Stuttgart ;-)

your questions:

copy openair.txt

to

locus/mapItems

next you can display it as an overlay on each map

=map&s[]=item]http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:items:management&s[]=map&s[]=item

guide on is the keyword that you are searching for, if you want to see the bearing and angle to a selected POI

http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:functions:guidance#guidance_to_a_point

Sorry i´m in hurry, if you are interested please contact me per mail

wolleiri(a)gmail.com

so maybe i can help you using locus while balloning

Hi guys,

I thought I'll tell you a "secret" with support for OpenAIR files and seems that here is still someone who use it :). I made support for airspaces maybe four years back when I had no idea what I do. Now I understand it a lot better and I see many problems in how these airspaces are display on the map. Unfortunately there are other priorities for now.

Anyway main point here ... point to point navigation may be no problem to Locus as balloni mentioned. So I mark this topic as "completed" anyway as I wrote .. feel free to continue in discussion. Thanks

Anyway feel free to discuss some topics around using Locus Map in the air here publicly, I'll gladly read and optionally join this discussion as I'm also a lot closer to air-usage now ;).
