Does Locus have the functionality to notify another app when i close Locus?

Hello menion

outdoor while geocaching sometimes i use my device screen as "writing pad" to note down information or calculate on a piece of paper.

In this case i protect the touch screen with

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=biz.obake.team.touchprotector&hl=de

which i start by side-button in locus.

My wish, if i start this app inside locus, it should also be closed automatic when i close locus.

I´ve asked the developer of this app and he meant, if locus has a functionality to notify other apps while closing, it is perhaps possible to implement this feature in his app.

Question:

is there a info from locus while closing?

Good day balloni,

no such feature was currently needed so no, it is not implemented in Locus.

If I understand, this application works similar like "lock screen" in Locus, right? If so, how you then close Locus if this app is active?

Even if I implement süch "feature" into Locus (notify about it's termination), I'm surprised that this developer offered to implement something such specific like this.

Isn't there any alternative solution for you, how to be satisfied without need to implement such changes into two applications?

Some utilities like AutomateIt! offer action when a particular application is launched ( e.g. turn ON Wifi if you launch Google Play ). Perhaps it could detect the application closure as well.

I'm worried it won't be possible. To be true, I'm surprised that it works for "launch". Anyway I do not know everything, so it may be theoretically possible.

i don´t think so

i couldn´t find it yet

please watch screencast example

- i am at a stage of a multicache, read the task and want to protect the touch activity of the screen, so i can use the screen as "writing pad"

- sec 5 i start TP, any touchon display is ignored

- sec 10 i disable TP with volume key

- sec 20 i protect screen, so i can read the formula/question and use my device as "writing pad" with no reaction on screen

- sec 29 i disable TP with volume key

TP is runnig furthermore in the background till i close it.

so my wish TP should close automatic at the last i close locus

I have verified the possible trigger is not for launch /close as I have thought. It is for application activation/deactivation. I have programmed Automateit for testing to run Hashnote app when Locus is deactivated. The rule was triggered when I have put Locus on background either by home button either by tasklist button ( Android 4.3 ). But as an action is possible an application launch, not closure.

Thanks Libor, yep this should be possible :).

@balloni , I had installed your app to see what you wants to achieve. And if I understand correctly, point here is that when you after day of geocaching done with Locus and you wants to close it, you also wants to close this application. Nothing more ... so once, twice a day it saves you few taps thats are needed to close this "App protector", am I correct?

Well .. why you need to close this app at all? Why not just leave it running? I'm sorry, but if I understand correctly, this is overcomplicated task involving two developers/applications, without any obvious benefit, mainly for more users.

Hello menion

thanks for your answer and time

you are correct, it´s too complicated with less benefit.....

my idea was to save accu

Understand ... and you have measured that this "app protector" app consume battery even if it's not currently actively running? It should not!
