Edit on map focuses wrong point

Ingo Rau shared this problem 9 years ago
Solved

When I tap on a track somewhere on the screen, the pop-up appears. Now I click the ">", and the context menu appears, with first entry for example "Point 123", and the next "Edit on map". Now tapping "Point 123" dsiplays the point details, just as expected. But tapping "Edit on map" will move the crosshairs to the next point in a track and start editing for that point. This may be the point I just clicked, but most of the time it's another point. It may even be in another track entirely.

Perhaps there is a reasoning I don't see, but I'm pretty sure that "Edit on map" should edit the point you just selected, and at least a point in the same track.

A little clarification:

"will move the crosshairs to the next point in a track" should better read

"will move the crosshairs to the closest point in any track".

Good day Ingo,

I'm checking code precisely and also testing it and I'm almost 100% sure, that Locus keeps selected track, just change selected waypoint to one, closest to map center. May you check it once more?

Anyway agree that when "Edit on map" is pressed, it should be logical to start edit from current selected point. So fixed and will work as expected in next 3.6.1 version.

Hi Menion!

Thx, as always, for the quick fix.

About the thing with switching tracks: Well, I have to say, I was pretty sure that I had that once or twice with tracks that are very close, but I can't reproduce it now. So perhaps I was mistaken. Or I was confused because of another behaviour: Sometimes when going thrugh points with the "<" and ">" buttons, it may jump to another point in the same track, which is close to the next one. But don't worry about that now, first I'll wait for the next version and try it out again. And if it still happens, I'll give you an example track. No "gut feeling" bug reports anymore ;)
