GPS Accuracy problem.

Solved

Hi All,

No matter how many satellites are in few the latest version of Locus Map Pro never shows an accuracy of more than 10 metres. All other "GPS" apps show an accuracy of 3 metres or better.b5549413c4cec0bcdbdc6b27e78e967f

I have taken a screen grab to show the problem.

I have installed Locus on three devices and all show the same issue.

I spotted this problem as a normally have "required accuracy" set to 7 metres when walking. This results in no track being recorded.

hi David

Use the Compactibility mode.

Seting, GPS and Location, Compactibility mode - ON.

And the requirement for 7m accuracy for long-term use when walking is to be considered. Do you really need such precision? Can your device do it?

Hi David,

since version 3.30, Locus Map uses Google-backed system of acquiring location via "fused location provider". This system maintains low battery consumption and combines all available sensors' location data. However, it indicates only 10m as the most accurate deviation, not less, even if accuracy indicated by other apps is better (which is, in fact, not - but it's problem of smartphones in general). We're trying to solve this issue. see the latest beta version.

Hi Guys,

Condor - Compatibility mode has returned my GPS accuracy figures to what they were before. It is all pretty uncluttered around here and 7 metres ensures that if I go into a cafe on route I don't get a lot of spurious track points. On my walks the accuracy figure is rarely greater than 7 metres. I find this gives me a very accurate track. I am using a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge.

Michal - OK understood. Thanks for the info. I have never found battery consumption to be a problem but of course lower consumption will always be welcomed.

Thanks for the prompt responses Guys.
