Guiding progresses by moving the screen around

Goosien shared this problem 9 years ago
Not a Problem

With GPS off, moving the map screen around progresses the guiding to new points and it also alarms when the map screen moves away from the course. Same for Navigation.

I'd expect Guiding to select the first point until GPS is active.

Navigation may be more complex a problem, but off the top of my head, I'd be expecting that the 'to the route' portion of Navigation not to be generated until GPS is active, even if Start Navigation has been picked.

Hello Goosien

we expect that common way how to use Locus before some "trip", is

1. enable GPS in Locus

2. start required action

When you follow these steps, it will work as you expect.

What you found is, let's call it "simulation mode". It allows to use map center as simulated GPS (it's also possible to set fake 'speed' of this cursor in config.txt file), which is very useful for testing if Locus will work as expected for example during navigation, etc.

So it's not directly an issue, but more a feature. Question is, if it's more confusing then useful, or not.
