How to upload exported tracks

Exporting tracks: where are they saved on the device? My objective: to be able to upload the track to another device. I exported a track as a .kml file but cannot find the file on my device. Locus doesn`t give me options as where to save the files. Thank you!

Have a look at the Locus folder "Locus/export". ;)

I found the locus/export folder, but it was in the phone`s memory and not the SD card. Is there a way to specify where to save the file?

Can locus email the exported file? It would be great if I could save a default email address into the settings and email the file with one button click.

It`s easier to get the files out of the phone by email than by cable.

1. if your file was in internal memory, then Locus probably use whole Locus folder in internal memory as primary directory. Also for maps, cache etc ...

this may happen for few reasons anyway if you want to have Locus on card, just move whole folder there and it should work

2. direct export by email is not possible, because for this is need permission to write and send emails and this I really do not want. Best solution is to check "share exported data" checkbox on export screen. Then you should get list of applications that allow to share exported data, like Dropbox, email, etc.

3. if you really want to define your own exported directory, you have to do it by special configuration file. More info here http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php/manu... , check parameter "folder_absolute_export"

Thanks for the quick reply.

1. I moved locus to the sdcard but it still saves to the other drive. It`s not a big deal.

2. I understand about not wanting to get involved with permissions. Your suggestions about "share exported data" will work fine. Thanks for the great software.

Here is another idea:

It`s possible to send an email via a contact shortcut. It should be possible to send a file in the same way.

creating a contact with the email field:

If you click the contact it will popup the email software with address and subject filled in

All you need todo is click "send"

You can create a desktop shortcut for the contact. if you click the shortcut and it will send an email.

There is a ?attachment option that can be used to send a file. I tried to create a contact, but I don`t understand how to type the proper path

It should be something like:

mailto:myemail@yahoo.com?subject=the gpx file&attachment="mntsdcardlocusmy_file.gpx"

I can get it to send an email, but it doesn`t send the file.

Once we get the syntax right I assume your software can "call the shortcut" or issue the command that autofills the email software.

This link talks about the ?attachment option
