Icon for charging (not batterie) status of the mobile

Hi,
I use my android phone with locuspro on my motorbike for navigation.
There, it would be helpful to see if the charging system works.
Can you add a new option in the Information Field at the top menue?
It already offers several options:
- Title – version of your Locus Map – Free or Pro
- Map – format, name, zoom and zoom coverage of displayed map in %
- GPS – GPS accuracy, number of targeted/fixed satellites, speed and altitude.
- ...
Maybe you can add a symbol (big field) that changes the color if the mobile is charged = green to red = uncharged.
So you are easily infomed if something goes wrong and you run out of power.

I'm personally not a big fan of this idea. Mainly because on Google Play is quite a lot of applications that are capable of doing what you request. And if so, then why to integrate such functionality into Locus, where there is app that may do it a lot better then Locus itself?

I have only found apps that show the battery status but not if the device is being charged or not.
And additionally, you must always change to that app and put away locusmaps. You cannot see the statusapp simultaniously. This doesn´t work while riding a bike or motorbiken and is not handy if you use gloves.
If you can tell me an app that does the job, I am also thankful.

hmm I do not use any application that work with battery, but simple request on Google Play returned huge list of apps: http://play.google.com/store/search?q=battery%20notification&c=apps . I understand that best should be to have all features in one application, but big advantage of Android is that many things may be separated to few applications and developers may then focus on important things in their own app. And this is the case, where I believe, exists solution with some external application.
