Is there a way to remove/delete all points added to a track at once without deleting the track?

Hi,

one hobby of mine is adding information to OSM by tracking where I walk/cycle via Locus Pro and adding points whenever I see something missing in OSM.

Currently I'm on holiday in Ireland, where OSM is still rather thin on the ground, so a single track may easily collect between 200 and 300 points.

Once I've entered everything into OSM, the points are no longer relevant for me, but I WOULD like to keep the track itself; deleting 200+ points one by one is a definite pain in the neck.

Is there an option that I simply haven't found to do a batch delete of all points?

If not: could such a feature be added?

Kind Regards,

Jochen

Dear Jochen,

thank you for contribution to the OSM project :-). I used to use also mapped for OSM data and probably facing the same situation. Unfortunately Locus doesn't allow removing all way-points from the parent track and I don't think that the rest of the users would use it.

I can only suggest to use "Quick new point" feature and create standalone points during your trip. You can create several definitions in "Quick new point" feature like different icons, naming style etc. Please see http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:points:quick_add

Thank you

Best regards

Petr

Test this:

Export the merged track as gpx file, then re import into Locus. Import: Separate your track into a track folder and the points into (new) point (to delete later) folder.

Thanks, both of you.

I'll try both methods and see which one suits me better.

...it will probably be the second one - or do standalone points get imported into OSM?

A large percentage of my points are just a bit of text - a speed limit, a house name and/or number, a street name.

It is very convenient if they show up in OSM in the correct spot as plain text without any further action from my side - in Locus, after all, by default there are originally just a lot of anonymous red arrows.

Hi,

as I know it's not possible to "share" standalone points to OSM. I've exported group of points into GPX file and after that import GPX into JOSM and "create" OSM POIs based on imported GPX.
