Locus maps gear Resume after Pause causes a bluetooth error

Thomas Schäfer shared this problem 4 months ago
Solved

Recording a track by starting a record on the watch works fine.

If I push Stop, the record will be stored.

Same if I first push Pause and then Stop -> the record will be stored

BUT if i push Pause and then Start/(Resume), to restart the recording, it causes reproducilble a BT-error.

Locus maps running as service on a LG x power 2 with Android 7.0

Sony Smartwatch 3

Is that a known error?

What can i do?

Best regards

Thomas

Hello Thomas,

you are right, I have surprisingly also reproduced this error. It is probably some problem between the add-on and the new version of Locus Map. I will look into it now and see how it can be fixed.

Thank you for reporting this issue.

Hello Thomas,

we have confirmed there is a problem withing a Locus Map itself. There should be a new fix version of Locus Map released within a week which should fix this behavior.

Sorry for the trouble in the meantime.

Best Regards

This is interesting because I get this Bluetooth error every time I start the wear app not only after a resume (I can't control Locus on the smartwatch at all because of this bluetooth error).

See my other thread here: http://help.locusmap.eu/topic/bluetooth-problems-with-sony-smartwatch-3

Maybe the problems are related?

Hello Markus,

I have just responded to your original issue and I recommend following Thomas's advice. I can with absolute certainty confirm that these two issues are unrelated, this problem is caused by the bug in the Locus Map code.

The add-on occasionally fails to startup with my Xiaomi phone when it is in some kind of deep sleep mode after the screen has been turned off for some time, but the second try is always OK, especially if Locus Map is already running on the phone.

Hello Thomas,

just yesterday we have released a new version of Locus Map which should fix the pause/resume problem on the watch.

Hello Milan,

very nice - and it works fine :-)

One question: after starting the app on the watch, sometimes it doesnt start on the phone?

Not really a problem, but what could be the reason for that? (perhaps energy mangement on the phone?)

Best regards

Hi,

thanks for letting me know the problem has been resolved by the new LM version.

To your question - the app is actually designed that way. When you start the watch app it is assumed that your phone is in your armband or backpack anyway so there is no need to start locus and turn on the screen. Actually the phone is woken up starting the add-on on the watch, Locus Map(core) and Wear for Locus Map add-on applications start in the background to provide necessary services for the watch but the Locus Map map screen does not start and the phone screen stays off.

Have a nice day
