Make text of Geocache description, User note, Hint, etc. selectable and copyable.

JGeo shared this idea 10 years ago
Completed

Somtimes, I want to add notes to a Geocache description, loaded in Locus. To enter answers to questions, calculate a formula, solve a piece of encrypted text, etc. Now, I can select nor copy any text.

Is there an option now to enable this? Otherwise, I would suggest it as a future feature.

At my Sony Xpreia V, I can select text by long-clicking in the listingtext. And from the appearing menu button I can choose copy/share/search/websearch. Have you tried long-click?

In Locus Pro I can not find a way to select the User Notes that I entered via geo.com and were loaded into Locus when storing/updating a cache.

The goal is to select the User Notes so I can push that text into an email or whatsapp message to a fellow cacher. Now I need to detour via cgeo that does offer this feature (change / upload).

@druki: thanks, it's probably ability of Android 4.X

@R50.nl: by "User notes" you mean in cache screen > menu > Notes? In this case, long-click to edit field may offer ability to select all/copy/paste etc. This do not appear to you?

Anyway to this topic, is there anything more need to do, to make this idea "Completed"?

@Menion: grmpf, I thought I knew it all in Locus. But this really simple pointer makes me blush...

Yes --> menu > Notes is exactly what I mean. Already there, and I did not realize.

Thanks, this is case closed for me !

Fine :). Just info - this "long click" may be used in all such edit fields in your Android. It's not a feature of Locus, but it's feature of Android itself
