Map widget

I would love to have a basic map widget that shows your current location centered in a map of the local area. Preferably clean and without lots of buttons, although I guess a setting for which map to use, the zoom factor and map rotation would be useful (or it could simply use the last selected options from the app itself, for instance), and a toggle that turns live tracking on/off to save battery life.

I use Locus a lot for navigation and sometimes recording tracks when I am walking/hiking/cycling. I've got a couple of other preferred apps (for weather, tracking, etc.) that I simultaneously use, so I find myself switching back and forth a lot. This is not convenient, especially when I am cycling and my phone is fixed to a phone holder. It would be cool if I could make a homescreen with a few widgets that give an overview of all the most essential information. Some of those widgets I already have, but a basic map view is missing. Seems like a natural feature for Locus. It could be integrated with the existing tracking widget, but a separate resizable rectangular map view widget would be even more flexible.

Apart from that, a map widget is of course simply cool for map afficionados! ;-) I couldn't find *any* app that has this feature, so I guess it might not be trivial to implement, but I've got it high on my wishlist, so I guess it would be a big bonus for more people.

Good day Dave,

this is a really complicated task and even it may look nice, I'm not sure it may be really useful. Next, to it, it may drain quite a lot of battery because the app should run even if not needed etc. So sorry, I'm considering this idea as too complicated & low benefit I see in this. Thanks for understanding.
