Navigate to some point on the route through this route

Hi

Sometimes I need to prepare route of my trip because my map doesn't have all trails.

Then I can navigate through this route.

Unfortunately I don't know how to to navigate to some point of this route but using only this route.

When I try to navigate, locus always try to find a way to this point by available map's trails without using my prepared route.

Hi,

when you need to be navigated to a point on a planned route, always use the route navigation (http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:functions:navigation:along-route), not navigation to a point (http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:functions:navigation:point-to-point).

Hi Michal

Unfortunately it doesn't work. Please see screenshots.

This is my route

This is how I click navigate option

And as a result application recalculate track and short it, ignoring my previous route.

Change the priority of the route recalculation - you have probably the point priority on. Either turn automatic recalculation off completely or change it to the route priority. (Locus settings > Navigation > Route recalculation)

In previous example I had route priority on, so for this test I set recalculation off.

Unfortunately Locus still ignores my route, what's more it also ignores point I taped and navigates the shortest way till end of the route

Please share a GPX of your route here for testing. Thanks.

File attached. Nothing special as you can see on first image of my second post I created it in locus.

Imo Locus works as expected, You can check this image from your link

http://docs.locusmap.eu/lib/exe/fetch.php?media=manual:user_guide:functions:navigation:navigace28.gif

When you click anywhere in the route and choose navigation from menu, locus mark whole route and navigate to the end of the route, not to the point you tap.

Hi,

if you tap the route at its start or if you launch navigation from the route detail screen, Locus understands you need to be navigated along the route. If you tap a particular point on the route, Locus tries to navigate you to the particular point (and consequently to the finish of the route) - when you have recalculation on, it recalculates the route along available paths, if recalculation is off, it guides you to the point with a beeline. That's property, not a bug.

Yes indeed, I agree with you 100%, but my question was "How can I navigate to specify point on my route along this route". I do not want to navigate in a bee line, or by nearest available paths. I want only locus to navigate me only for some part of the route to specific point of this route, no more no less.

Is that possible?

For this case, start route navigation, TTS will remind you of the approaching waypoint if it has a name.

Let's start once again because I think I should firstly explain why I want to navigate to specific point :-).

The reason, why I want to navigate along my route to specific point is that I want to be able to easily check how far is to specific point or sometimes check ETA to this point. In simply words I want stats to this point.

How far it is to a specific point on route can be seen in the route itinerary (tap navigation box > itinerary). ETA to the nearest approaching intersection or waypoint can be seen in the navigation panel (two adjustable fields).

As for ideas for change in Locus - all must go through voting proces with other users. Define precisely and in detail your idea and add it at help.locusmap.eu.
