Not a Problem

Hello. Someone never noticed malfunctions usung Google Nexus 4? Sometimes while panning a vector map, locus pro exits without any reason.

Then, when i "go to" a point (for instance, while geocaching) compass works anormally being useless. No problem using other programs.

By the way, Locus is one of the best programs I`ve ever used!!!!

Hello Raffaele,

errors where locus just "dissapear" are worst. It usually mean some problems in native code and these problems are usually outside of Locus.

Anyway firstly, are you using original ROM? because you`re really only one who report such problem (this doesn`t mean nothing)

Next time when this happen, try to create for me a log report by this method http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php/manu... . If you don`t have rooted device, it will be a little problem, but hope you have :)

Thanks Menion for the quick reply.

I couldn`t reply as well, as I was trekking in Iceland (using Locus all day long...). Now I`m back and I can describe my problems.

My Nexus 4 is UNROOTED (!) and never gave me a problem. I know your software is excellent (I use it since the first versions) and I have no doubt that there is something wrong with the OS of my smartphone.

The problem of the "disappearing" is quite frequent and disappointing (it happened almost twice a day) and always while panning the vector map NOT while in track recording mode (if I remember well, but I`m not 100% sure). I hope this could help.

As soon as possible, I`ll try to log the problem, ok?

Thanks again for your help and compliments for your great software.

Sorry, Menion, I cannot see my phone from the Androind debug monitor.

I guess my problem won`t be solved... :-(

Thanks and regards

you don`t see it? Then it`s probably a problem with drivers. You`re using windows? In "extras" directory are USB drivers, so you may try to install them, this should solve this problem.

Google did quite a unpleasant step with disabling ability to read a logs without a root. I created small tool inside locus to read a logs but it`s quite useless. Seems, I`ll have to improve it

I have a rooted Nexus 4 with custom kernel but stock ROM. Never experienced any weird things about Locus like terminating in the middle of panning a vector map. I do use vector map only. As soon as it happens, I`ll create a log report.

Issue related to problematic ROM version more then to Locus itself. Closed.
