Online maps categories are wrong (at least for some Polish maps)

Jacek Konieczny shared this problem 11 years ago
Solved

Online maps available in Locus are organized in groups: `MapQuest`, `OSM`, `OSM -regional`, etc. The problem is the group assignment does not match facts:

There is `UMP-pcPL` in the `OSM-regional` group, but `UMP-pcPL` is an independent project, not using the OpenStreetMap data set.

There is also a Osmapa.pl group, containing `Classic` and `Classic+relief` tiles, but Osmapa.pl is just another, local, rendering for OSM data, so it would be expected to be found in the `OSM-regional` group.

Jacek thanks,

I didn`t noticed that UMP-pcPL is not based on OSM data. So removed from "OSM-regional" category and moved to own category together with transparent layer useful for "Map overlay" feature.

About Osmapa map. It`s simple. OSM-regional exist only because there is a lot of maps that have only one layer, so I don`t wanted to create for every map separate own category. That`s why I created this one big group. Anyway Osmapa have two layers and idea was that maps which have more then one layer will have separate category. That`s all :)

as a "solution" to this issue

- reorganized order of online maps to make it more sense

- removed UMP from OSM-regional and put it into separate category

- added Hike&Bike (+relief) maps to Osmapa.pl

- added NLC (Sk) - Lesne cesty as new overlay into new "Overlay" category

Sure, that is ok. That only looked wrong when UMP-pcPL was in `OSM-regional` while Osmapa fitted there better.

I am not sure what is the status of these tiles on osmapa.pl. The tiles are hosted at the same place, but it seems to be the style from http://hikebikemap.de/. The rendering `Classic` and `Classic+relief` are our `native` style.

I just discovered same thing. Interesting. But should there be any problem? Terms of use seems to be same and usage of these maps in Locus will not be too huge so I don`t see any problem.
