OSM OpenPiste Details missing!

Charles Haye shared this problem 11 years ago
Solved

Hi, OSM OpenPiste has missing chair lift and other details missing when compared with the OpenPiste website. I am currently using a custom xml to correct this. Can you fix please? I know that there have been some changes to the server, and I did clear the cache.

Also zoom level only goes to 16 and not 18 as per website

hmm may you provide update of your XML to spare me some time? Thanks

PS: I`ll look on zoom levels. It`s possible that before an year, more then 16 wasn`t available.

Ok it might need some tweaking but you should be able to see the differences at zoom level 16 and above. This originally came from your manual on "http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php/manu..., I just tweaked it to use openstreetmap as the background, i.e, same as the website.

The map area that I was using for reference was Cervinia, Italy. Hope it helps.

XML follows:

<provider id="1000" type="0" visible="false" required="true" background="-1">

<mode>background</mode>

World

http://c.tile.openstreetmap.org/{z}/{x}/{y}.png
;

<zoomPart>{z}-8</zoomPart>

<zoomMin>8</zoomMin>

<zoomMax>26</zoomMax>

<tileSize>256</tileSize>

<extraHeader>Referer#http://locus.asamm.cz/</extraHeader>;

</provider>

<provider id="1001" type="0" visible="false" required="false" background="1000">

<mode>nocontours</mode>

World

http://tiles.openpistemap.org/nocontours/{z}/{x}/{y}.png
;

<zoomPart>{z}-8</zoomPart>

<zoomMin>8</zoomMin>

<zoomMax>26</zoomMax>

<tileSize>256</tileSize>

<extraHeader>Referer#http://locus.asamm.cz/</extraHeader>;

</provider>

<provider id="1002" type="0" visible="true" required="true" background="1001">

<mode>OpenPisteCPH</mode>

World

http://tiles2.openpistemap.org/landshaded/{z}/{x}/{y}.png
;

<zoomPart>{z}-8</zoomPart>

<zoomMin>8</zoomMin>

<zoomMax>26</zoomMax>

<tileSize>256</tileSize>

<extraHeader>Referer#http://locus.asamm.cz/</extraHeader>;

</provider>

thanks for config, it`ll anyway not be so simple

In Locus was OpenPiste maps set only to 16, because since last year, Locus is blocked on main OSM server for 17 and 18 zooms. And because background map on OpenPiste server is from main OSM server, I allowed also only zooms to 16. Anyway Locus currently use as a background layer, map from MapQuest. That`s why you miss some data there.

Also in Locus it`s not enabled shading of relief, because this may be enabled as a separate overlay map and for normal usage, it`s unwanted banwidth and server loading I think.

So only what I did, is increase range to zoom 17 and 18, nothing more.

Thanks for looking at it. I think that OSM Classic is a much better looking and more informative background. So I can continue with my custom XML anyway. More skier appeal !

Thanks again.

I agree that OSM Classic maps is better then MapQuest maps, but due to problems Locus had on that server, I rather use MapQuest server. Anyway for you works all OSM Classic zooms even with valid User-agent?

I`ve put this in .../custom/provider.xml how do I get it to show. Existing openpistemap option is completely useless without lifts

just read the help on http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php/manu... and noticed that I had called the file provider.xml instead of providers.xml

All works now, thanks. Off skiing this afternoon!!!
