RTK/NTRIP - functionality

Hi,

as a biologist I notice that often DGPS accuracy (1m) is required for mapping and monitoring services.

Is it possible to integrate RTK/NTRIP functionality into Locus?

It would be great if one could access an NTRIP server directly via the Locusmap app to receive GNSS correction data. Which server/service one chooses depends on the requirement and the purse.

Good day Uwe,

I perfectly understand your request. It is a logical step for applications which primary purpose is data collecting or any GIS stuff. Locus Map primary use-case is hiking & biking and improving accuracy by RTK system is not a necessary feature for this kind of application.

Thank you for understanding,

Menion

I was looking also if there would have been easy way to use NTRIP functionally in Locus. For example here in Finland, dgnss data is free open service and would help much in making accurate maps of trails for off-road events which we are making. At the moment it's huge job to manually correct gps track errors in QGis for race maps.

Reason why we are using mostly Locus for tracking of trails is that it's easy for volunteer workers to install that in phones and no need for to buy anything else. Just little configuration and we have good online maps, great track logs etc. NTRIP functionality would just be great help for simplifying process :)
