Speed export to GPX.

Evgeny Kurshev shared this problem 9 years ago
Solved

It's look like, speed export to gpx (1.0 and 1.1) was broken in 3.7 (it works fine in 3.6.2).

You can try to export just recorded track or import and export track like this: https://files.melda.ru/hidden/locus_dev/speed_test.gpx

Hello Evgeny,

what does it mean "broken"? Speed is not exported from Locus since latest version, in case it is not recorded by external sensor.

Case 1. I record track using phone built-in GPS (Sasmung Note II). And have no speed in exported GPX.

Case 2. I import track with speed info and after that export it. But there is no speed in exported file. Why I loose speed?

May I ask you for an sample file, so we talk about same GPX file? Thanks

(there was link to it in first message :)

Ah sorry, I completely overlooked it.

Oki, so if you are using test versions, it should be improved in next Beta version, or after around 14 days later, in new public version. Thanks for report and sorry for a troubles.

Yes, export is ok in 3.7.1.3.But what about track recording? Why Locus doesn't write GPS speed to tracks.db/locations/sensor_speed column?

By the way, I found two very old (and very long) tracks in tracks.db/trawecks with parent_id=0 - this tracks was invisible in Locus.

I never edit Locus DBs manually, so I think it's artefact of DB autoconvertion to new format sometime ago (more than one year?).

It can be not only in my DB, so it makes sense to add autocheck (and autofix), that all tracks belong to existing category?

Do not worry, all tracks even in invisible category may have it's sense :).

Any way Locus do not recorded to sensor_speed? Are you using any sensor for speed (Bluetooth or ANT+)? If not, there is no speed from sensors, just speed from GPS which has it's own column.

But GPS speed (written to "speed" column) never exports to gpx 1.1, it's true?

Right, correct. Do you think it is wrong? I think, that speed from GPS is same as speed computed from dDistance/dTime, so there is no need to export it (not just my opinion, but it was changed after quite long discussion with developer of VeloHero server).

Thanks for clarifying! It took me quite a while to understand, why I don't see any speed in the GPX 1.1 exported file.
