Standalone access to compass

Would be great if you could access the compass separately from the main locus app, would also be good for a compass night mode or custom skins. or perhaps shortcuts to access the specific functions/modules

Thanks

what you mean by "separately"? Compass may be already called by global intent from other application. It will anyway require to firstly initialize Locus app. This already work from application like c:geo or others

For example, with google maps can open latitude and navigation separately,

As a usage example, if there was a shorcut to the compass on the lockscreen, it could be quickly opened one handed. After opening locus, the button for compass is quite small compares to an app/shortcut launcher if you are in a rush.

Thanks

I was thinking about it ...

locus is primary map application, so I think there is no serious reason to start it just for compass (I know, everytime exist exceptions). Also compass screen is quite tight connected to map screen and mainly core of Locus (that handle all GPS, compass, etc) so it`s not so easy now, to separate it as a single process

I also think, that on market exist quite a lot of compass apps, so if you`re searching for different design, you`ll for sure find it. I also like all-in-one as Locus is, anyway skins for compass will be much less useful then, other very nice ideas here on GetSatisfaction ;)

so sorry, but idea rejected
