The new duplicate folder handler doesn`t see tracks and POI on ext SD card

Solved

The new version 2.3.0 has a new way of handling duplicate root folders. That works fine for maps, but not for my old tracks and POI on my external SD card. Since my phone has 16GB internal memory, that memory is called "SD card". The SD card is called "External SD card". Locus detects root folder on both memories. Map handling is no problem, as I have addded the search path to both roots. But for tracks and POI Locus seems to look only at the root on the internal "SD card". Is that correct? Do we have to move tracks and POI to internal "SD card"?

it`s little misunderstanding of this feature. Locus should have only one folder, not more. If there is more then one, it`s issue that usually happen when system is updated or ROM changed.

So purpose of new notification is just to show you, that there are more then one valid locus directory. You have to remove one of them and merge data to make Locus works correctly (it work but only with first one, so it`s should be then confusing where to search for exported data etc.)

I renamed the Locus folder on the "internal SD card" memory. Now all my tracks and POI on the "external SD card" reappeared! Great! I thought the Locus folder on the "internal SD card" was part of the Locus installation and was required. It was probably created by Titanium backup/restore when I moved over to my new phone. Ok - so now I understand I can just remove it

Thank you for quick answer!

Since I`m forced to have duplicate root folders (/mnt/sdcard/external_sd and /mnt/emmc point to the same external SD card) because without it Navigon doesn`t find its maps, is there a option to switch off the notification?

New settings for this in normal settings system of Locus is not best idea. Firstly it`s one more not necessary settings that may confuse most of users, and also it`s quite a lot of work for me and translators to add every new settings.

This is the solution I wanted to do a long time ago http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php/manu... . It will allow very very simply add new settings to Locus. I mean settings that aren`t necessary or are too advanced!

Hi menion,

the new manual configuration option for the duplicate root folders worked great in the previous versions, but with the newest ones I get the warning again, even when I have switched it off. :(

hmm are you sure you have correctly set it?

notify_duplicate_root_folder=0

as I look into code, there should not be any problem ...

Of course! ;)

Did a quick test and removed the Locus widget from my home screen and now the message doesn`t come up when I open Locus. This also explains, why I got the message even without Locus running.

hmm I`m looking on it more closely and seems to be there one very simple problem :)

I can load this configuration file in the moment, I know where is Locus placed. But for this, I need to set root directory. And this checking of duplicate folders is done during this part. So settings to ignore duplicate folders have after just after notification about duplicate folder, heh :)

Not sure, if you understand and also mystery that it worked before but I`ll improve it to next version ...

EDIT: should be fixed now, anyway expect that for the first start, it will still display this notification. For second start of the app, it should be OK (in updated version of course)
