Topo vs Trails

Solved

Hi

I have been hiking in iceland with the locus app and it is very helpfull spezially the topographic lines.

But as you can see are the trails and the topo lines shifted a bit. (peak is higher than the topo lines and the trail goes up and down instead of constant upwards). Can you correct that?

Dear Julian,

I'm sorry for troubles. We already notice similar issue. We use general SRTM data set but it seems that some areas have shifted elevation data. We'll try to find out better data set.

Best regards

Petr

Petr, are you familiar with this data set?

I'm almost certain you are, but just in case...

Hi,

yes we know it and we use this "data set" almost for whole world. Only for Germany, Austria, Italy and Luxemburk we use local data from Lidar sessions.

Hi,

I'd like to inform that we replaced elevation data with local data set provided by National Land Survey of Iceland. Elevation files (for example used for hillshading are already fixed) . However it's needed to manually purge the cached data. Please use arbitrary file manager > navigate into the folder Locus/data/srtm and delete all N6* files

These data are also used for contour lines in LoMaps - please wait for the next version of LoMaps. The planned release is in next 14 days.

BR Petr
