Vector Map Downloads Complete, but Open Error invalidfilesize

I have the latest Locus Maps Pro running on Android Cyanogenmod ICS 4.0.4 on a Galaxy S2 Skyrocket (AT&T). I bought 30GB credit at your online map in the app to download USA vector maps for offline use. The first I have downloaded is the one for Virginia. It looked like it downloaded OK. But every time I try to use it I get the error message:

Problem with file virginia.osm.map! FileOpenResult [success=false, errorMessage =invalidfilesize=179235310]

I have re-downloaded the map but no fix. Also rebooted the Android smartphone, but same problem.

How do I fix this?

Thanks.

Hello James,

firstly I`m sorry for such problems, mainly in this case, where you download maps with paid credit!

may you please try this test version http://forum.locusmap.eu/viewtopic.ph... ? Let me know about result and also if there will be any error message.

Also please write me which maps and how many you downloaded and also your email account you use in locus store (it`s visible in menu > information > first tab) on locus@asamm.com. I`ll return you wasted credit. It`s nonsense to let you waste credit on something that have to work correctly!

Thank you for your help. I downloaded the apk and sideloaded it. Still have an error, but the words changed. The new message is:

Problem with file Virginia.osm.map! FileOpenResult [success=false errorMessage=invalidfilesize, expected: 11601920, header: 179235310]

The only file I have tried is vector map Virginia. Also downloaded West Virginia. Google store account jellison999@gmail.com

I got the latest update to Locus Maps today from Google Play, but the Locus store still isn`t working right. I can download the vector maps for Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Maryland OK. The downloads complete, and interrupted downloads pick up again and then complete. The problem is that none of those downloaded zip files will extract into vector maps. Except for Maryland, and the Maryland vector map is blank. The other maps partially extract, then fail. I tried using file managers to fix it. I erased the extract fragments, then tried to expand each state`s zip file with the file manager. But all unzippers have the same problem as the Locus unzipper. So far I have tried File Expert, AndroZip, and ZArchiver, but they all say the zipfiles are bad. Can you check those vector map zipfiles on the Locus store, and see if they are bad zipfiles on the server?

Hello James,

I`m sorry for your frustration and late response. It`s same on my side :). I wanted to add you some credit as an compensation, but seems you have enough. Anyway I added you additional 5GB, so you can now test as you want.

I tested first two maps with latest 2.11.0 version. Both downloaded correctly, extracted correctly and seems to works correctly.

May you please delete downloaded data from Locus/mapsVector directory (or at least some corrupted files and these not usable) and check downloading again with latest version? Also please, watch progress if for a whole time works correctly. Downloading should take some time, but extraction also! For example on my device (and slow internet), downloading took around 60s, extraction next 10s.

If this will still not work, I should create for you testing version, where will be some debug messages that may help ...
