Vector map theme for rail lines?

I would really like to see a theme that emphasized rail lines (railways, streetcars, trams, monorails, whatever) over highways and other things.

One of my evening pastimes is following rail lines in foreign places, but often those lines simply disappear under `more important` things like roads or place names, and they tend to disappear entirely if one zooms out for an overview.

I`ve looked at some theme html files & could probably do my own editing, but I just can`t build enthusiasm for the level of nitpicking involved in just making the roads narrower and the rail lines bolder and darker. I didn`t even look at adjusting zoom level visibility or `stacking` order that place streetcar lines on top of roads where they belong, instead of burying them underneath.

So is there anyone out there that has already done the learning curve and might want to tackle this?

What I`d really like to see is a `theme editor` that would allow adjusting various factors with check boxes & sliders & such.

I`ve been collecting (paper) maps for almost sixty years, and would greatly enjoy being able to simulate the "look" of some old favorites - I love the "German Style" theme, but wouldn`t a Mairs/Shell "Generalkarte" theme be great as well?

I`ve rambled here, but maps kind of inspire rambling.
