Visual POI to Virtual POI

I need to create a Point of Interest (POI) based on my current location, bearing to POI and distance to POI....and then be able to navigate to the POI created. Distance and bearing would be inputs to the program based on actual measured data (compass and range finder)...Phone compass could be used or Magnetic/True bearing simply entered manually (old fashioned compass). Distance entered manually.
Uses - hiking, hunting, rescue - where visual observation of POI is obtained and bearing/distance are measured with compass and range finder to create destination POI. No incline in relative flat terrain. Incline may need to be input in steep terrain.

When you will be creating a new point, you may of course define a coordinates of this new point. Here try to use location selector : http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:tools:location#location_selector_dialog and mainly option "Projection". It should be what you are looking for. Let me know if it works or if you needs any help with it.
