Missing items in the backup

Not a Problem

Hi,

I currently miss two things in the backup of locus after I switched to a new phone.

1: the photos I added to waypoints (media folder)

2: the map themes

Please add them to the backup feature. I always thougt I have a full backup of locus but these things are missing.

Thanks Wolfgang

That's not a mistake, it's always been that way. Unfortunately, there is no mention of it. A note so that not everything is saved would be absolutely appropriate here. You have to copy this area manually. You could make an idea out of it.

Thanks for clarifying. The problem is, doing it manually is not any more so easy on current Android versions.

Hello,

there is warning in the manual:
c61350d53331100e920f2fdf397ac404

We'll add the mention about the themes.

The best practice is for backup is make copy of the whole "Locus" folder once a time. This way you'll have also maps backed up. I recommend to copy this folder to the PC via cable.

It's in the help now. But not everyone looks in the help when it is self-explanatory.
There is no hint in the app. There is only "Save all" and then the users assume that everything is saved. But at some point they have to painfully realize that this was not the case.

Yes, it's true. Good point - I'll pass on the idea to Menion. Thank you.

Does someone know an App which is able to write to the locus default dir on an Android 12 device - I guess it is:

/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/menion.android.locus/files/Locus

With Total Commander I am not able. As far as I know Total Commander is one of the few apps being able to access the secured Android file system but I do not gain access.

Maybe all is there without any need of any third party apps. In a few hours I will know more.

Why is that function hidden under default dirs and not in the backup section?
