Offline KMZ with images in description not working any more?

Solved

Version Locus Maps Pro 3.57.1

Hi Locus-Team,

Since a long time I'm using Locus with offline POIs in KMZ-format. I followed the guide in your docs-collection (https://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:advanced:data_tools:kml_conversion_offline).

Pictures are included in KMZ in a separate folder named "files" and referenced in doc.kml as

<img src="files/name.jpg">

When opening the POI within current Locus version, the description shows only the icon for an "not found image".

This was working perfectly in the past, even with multiple images in one placemark.

Attached a small KMZ for reference and two screenshots of the representation in Locus.

One with error in current Locus version (v3.57) and the same KMZ loaded in an old version (v3.35).

Thanks for your support!

Regards, Karsten

Hi Karsten,

it is strange but I imported your testfile into 3.57.1. Samsung Galaxy S9+ Android 5.1 without problems:

I tested it also on Xiaomi Note 10 Pro with Android 12 and the problem is there... I'll check this with the app devs and I'll let you know.

Hi Michal,

thanks for checking!

It's failing on my mobile Sony Z5 Compact running Android 7.1.1 and on a Samsung Galaxy tab S5e running Android 11. I forgot this to mention in the starting post.

Hi Karsten,

the bug should be fixed in the next version of LM Pro.
