Automatic Zoom On Navigation - LM Pro 3.66.2?
Hello,
I recently discovered that automatic zoom on navigation point has been implemented or turned ON, likely during a software update.
How do I control this behavior or if it can't be controlled disable it? Can you provide links to any relevant "Help" pages? Wasted an hour in the database without luck.
I use LM for cycling and I can appreciate the auto-zoom while going through towns. However, it zooms into some unknown level but never zooms back out! This is extremely frustrating and dangerously distracting to have to continually zoom back out several levels after EVERY turn notification. If it would automatically zoom back out it might be worth using but not in its current form.
BTW, I read this thread...
https://help.locusmap.eu/topic/automatically-zoom-in-at-navigation-instruction
where it seems to indicate that this feature was supposed to only be in LM4. If this is true then it has "sneaked" into LM3, perhaps without any way to control it?
Hello,
see the manual: https://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:settings:control#automatic_zooming
These settings also can be connected to the presets and triggered with navigation or recording, so check also settings there.

Nice screen but how do I get to it? The help page doesn't explain how to get there. It just shows the panel.
I also find no zoom settings options under any navigation settings.

Hello,
the manual reflects the Locus menus 1:1.
So if in the manual is it "Settings > Controlling > Map screen > Automatic zooming" then it is the same in the app.
But you are right, I should mention it. I am sorry.

Found it! thanks!
It showed that the feature was active with the following data (sorry for the imperial measurements)
0.0 MPH -> 800ft.
1.1 MPH -> 0.3 mi.
2.1MPH -> 1.0 mi.
24MPH -> 2.0 mi.
So when the navigation prompt came up I was traveling at between 10-20 MPH but the zoom scale changed to 800 feet. Any thoughts on why this happened? Will the zoom scale adjust automatically as you slow down?
Thanks,
Steve

Hello,
the auto-zoom settings could be also defined in the presets, check if there are no different values.
There is also an "Extra zoom-in on navigation commands" option. Is it checked? If so, Locus zoom-in when the turn is close, so you can see it better.
Auto-zoom sets always the defined scale when you are in the defined range (in your case 0 - 1.1 MPH = 800ft, 1.1 - 2.1 MPH = 0.3Mi and so on)
