POI grouping with KML not working

Hi,
to keep the overview better I organize my found Geocaches that way that I import them as KML file and give them a small round blue symbol for better identification.
It looks like the POI grouping does not take place with these KML points. Is this a normal and wished behavior or should this work as it does for GPX files?
