Letters of new coordinate-POI added to a category always switch back to UPPERCASE

Solved

I discovered the following bug that can be reproduced as follows (note: I have a german user interface, so I don`t know the correct english labels!):

- Open the Data-Manager and switch to "categories"

- Create a new category

- Click on that category and select the first entry of the context menu "Points / POI" (?)

- Inside the category press the "+"-Button to add a new POI

- Chose "Coordinates"

- Enter some coordinates and select "Add"

Now the dialog for entering the name appears - and there`s the bug: The letters are captial letters by default. When I switch to lowercase and enter a letter it always switches back to uppercase. So entering a "normal" name for a POI is really difficult!

I have seen this issue also. I have gotten to where I type in a few characters, save and then come back and edit. At this point I can easily enter the mixed case text that I want. Having the normal typing capability would be appreciated.

guys, I`m unable to simulate this issue. Are you using standart ROM on your phone?

Anyway I changed a little bit part of code that handle this task (getting name in small dialog) so check next version if this help!

No, it is not the stock rom, it`s CM7 on a Huawei U8160 (Vodafone 858). Any further questions?

fine, then I should expect it`s a problem of CM, anyway as I wrote, test next market version if small update I did helped

Mine is standard using a Droid X. Have not rooted or done anything other than loading apps from Android App Store.

Sequence to show issue

Data Manager > Points > Favorites > + Key > Map Center > erase N 42 .... W 71 ... > T > Upcase key (dot colored) Upcase key (dot uncolored) > `e` > keyboard switches back to caps > Upcase Key Upcase Key > `s` > keyboard switches back to caps > Upcase Key Upcase Key > `t`

Thanks,

Richard

Hello Menion, just updated to 2.4 and could not reproduce the error any longer. Thanks for fixing! sukmar

Menion,

I think the issue is fixed. I followed the same steps as above

Data Manager > Points > Favorites > + Key > Map Center > erase N 42 .... W 71 ...

I then typed in `test`. If I press the caps lock button (dot not colored), the first `T` is capital and the remaining letters are lower case.

Thank you very much ... Sorry I didn`t test this and report back sooner.

guys, it`s not problem with late report, really. I`m sure if there will still be problem, you let me know. Opposite, sometimes I close some older unsolved topics, so I`ll just ask
