Problem with crossing +- 180deg (line to GPS, maps, track recording, ...)

joeloc shared this problem 10 years ago
Solved

The line to GPS is a bit bogus sometimes when I bumble around the other side of the planet. Tested with this overview world map: http://www.openandromaps.org/maps/wor...

I think I have same problem.

Autosave works until the device is restarted, then nothing.

Example :

If I set the next backup for the next hour (with recurrence every day), everything is fine, although Locus is not used. The next day, if the device has been left on, the backup properly done at the same time. But if I turn off the device and then I restart it, so I must configure settings again to resume the backups.

I may confirm, that in current Locus version is more problems related to the "end of the world". It do not depend on a map you use, it's a general problem independent on map type.

the small track segment that is not displayed properly is this one:

<trkpt lat="44.998435" lon="179.968165">

<ele>10470.99</ele>

<time>2016-04-11T17:28:27Z</time>

<pdop>27.00</pdop>

</trkpt>

<trkpt lat="45.001583" lon="-179.972898">

<ele>10467.06</ele>

<time>2016-04-11T17:28:41Z</time>

<pdop>36.00</pdop>

</trkpt>

Good day tristan,

thank You for your report. Mentioned issue is well known for me for some time, but unfortunately I still have not working solution for now. Thanks for understanding.

it does not look hard to fix... but it may require an additional test to be performed for each segment, or at least in the case of tracks that are known to cross the date-line.

Good day guys,

issue should be solved in next Locus Map version. I believe it is still not perfect, but at least, line won't be drawn over whole Earth now.
