Show me the amount or list of new geocaches when importing geocaches

rvheddeg shared this idea 11 years ago
Completed

When importing geocaches, I can now choose to overwrite them one by one or check the checkbox and apply my choice for everything.

What would be great:

- Add the date of import or refresh of a geocache.

-Show me the amount of new imported geocaches (those that are not overwritten)

PS: Happy holidays everyone!

Great!

Adding the date of import or refresh of a geocache is probably not feasible at this moment? (I guess this requires a structure change)

If it is feasible, it would be awesome, if I could sort my list on the date of refresh or import. Looking at the new one`s only...

I forget on "time" idea ...

system in Locus is currently, let`s say not perfect. There are cases, when time values may change (mainly when you edit location)

How much important is time of creating of object? What about if I just change it to "Last updated" time, so everytime something in point will change, this time will also change ... should it be generally done in Locus on all points? I hope so :)

For me, the only points where I`m interested in at this moment are the geocache ones.

Perfect situation would be a time for all these situations:

1) one for creation: So you could look at the new ones only

2) one for refresh: So you could see when you`ve last refreshed this one, and decide if you need a refresh (= bandwidth= time and money)

3) one for edit of a point: So you could see on which points you last made some changes, calculated waypoints, etc)

Now, if I understand you correctly, we have at this moment just 1 time, the last one.

That makes it though.

For me personally, I would choose only the creation time, but I guess I`m not alone. Could this be an option?

For all the other points (standard points, waypoints, ...except the geocaching ones), I think that the edit time would be the most appropriate, but that`s just my 2 cents.

Was this implemented? How?

I`m not getting any feedback?

did you tried last version 2.8.4 or 2.8.5? If so, then simply import any PQ file (and disable "Display after import" which do not show result dialog

Allright, I was able to get the report. But why I have to disable "Display after import"? I like to see all my imported geocaches on the map (shows me how many I still have to do ;-) ).

Hmm because "Display ..." is for fast display of all points without any disturbing dialogs. That`s why in this case, dialog is not displayed and you`re immediately moved on map. I should at least display small popup window that will disappear after a while ... so you have to wait on next version ;)

Allright, I`ll wait. Thanks!

uff such "stupid" task and worst that I expect

anyway next time you`ll see this

Not sure I understand what you mean. I guess it was harder to implement then expected.

Note that I`m not using Geocaching Live feature, but the Geocaching4Locus Add-on. I hope it works there the same.

Anyway thanks!

PS: You seem to have found quit a lot of geocaches yourself! ;-)

yes, I was trying to display same content (as if you disable "show after import ..."), but this small dialog have problems with advanced HTML code co it was my small fight .. nevermind :), you`re welcome

ad PS: and caches, good old times. I live geocaching and really looking forward to summer and some free days, to finally test Locus also in the field ;)
