Sport track recording: Autopause

I want to feature autopause cycling. Autopause be set to a speed range when the shooting stopped red light (sightseeing, take photo. etc.)

Autopause if =<5km/h (adjustable)

Thus, the slow motion recording would not reduce the average :)

This idea is on discussion, but it's important to keep in mind:

1) such autopause feature creates breaks in track (same as when you tap pause)

2) Android quite ofter return some crazy speed values, so even if you stand still, when GPS signal is worst, you may see some speed values even above 5 km/h

Anyway I'll gladly listen about usability of this feature and when number of votes gets higher, I have no problem to implement it.

EDIT

And sorry for a small mess in comments. I've merged three topics with similar idea. So generally, if you want to improve track record conditions for some "speed limits", this is correct topic

I guess you mean IdleTime=TrackTime(All) - Track time(Movement) in dashboard, right?

idle time is less than 5 km / h do not show the movement in time and motion averages. Push bike, looking around, etc. So Auto Pause <= 5km/h (individually)

What about "Recording conditions" in the "Track recording" settings?

and Interval (meter), Interval (seconds) together with "Recording profiles"?

I thought about it. I just do not understand the logic of the setting. Then set point when both conditions are met. Interval (seconds) It is not possible to set a value greater than Interval (meter).

gynta: You are to be set up not to be recording less than 5 km / h?

It would be great if you just need to set the speed limit when not recording....

I`m not sure if your GPS signal is so precisely to have such a fine gradation. Therefore, I fear too many incorrect measurements.

concise title for the misinterpretation ...

is "recording >0" not ok for you?

:) I have only this option would put the crown on the Locus Pro. If this option is easy to install, it should be me and my friends for a little Favor to you. But even without it, it would become the program because of its unique adjustable display, map equivalent to me indispensable for cycling

I would love to have this feature in Locus Pro, now that I have been using it to record my bike rides (it would be a great complement for the tracking dashboard improvement in v3).

Only Locus is missing this feature! Garmin devices have auto-pause:

http://garmin.blogs.com/my_weblog/2006/06/auto_pause.html

Also many outdoor/tracking apps I have tried have auto-pause: Viewranger, Endomondo, Runtastic, Runkeeper.

However, implementing auto-pause is not trivial since it must be very robust, to filter GPS noise and to distinguish slow movement from real pauses - e.g. in a steep climb by bike, the speed can drop to walking speed.

Hi Menion. About "avg position coordinates" or gps drift compensation on low to zero speed.

Q : Are you still working on that interesting idea ? To avoid/minimise false gps position records especially during drive pause ?

Does you idea proposal +/- "translate" like this ? - Avg autorange position from a High >18 kmh (biking) (1avg) to a very Low (turtelsrace) <0.9 kmh(20avg) even to (non existant because of the gps drift) zero (20avg) speed, thereby maintain a nice (10m trkpt) trackdefinition.

Good day Willy, unfortunately I'm not currently working on this feature.

Truth is, that I've already during, past months, though about it as I always forget un-pause recording after I've previously paused it. Probably as almost everyone :).

I use "record only when moving" option in track recording settings and I'm satisfied... have you tried it?

Sure Michal, I know that possibilty, no problem. I suppose this avg proposal by Menion can improve general trackquality on (very) low speed recordings, so I was just curious ;-) Not pushing for a realisation no no no.

I hope that we get the cycling. (10 km / h limit). This mountainbike can fulfill even the uphill :)

Autopause bei Geschwindigkeit unter (4 km/h) Aber wenn neues GPS Signal (20) Meter entfernt, dann zählen und aufzeichnen. Werte in () variabel
