Hi Sugeng Khfkhjgfjhgfjhgfjhgfjhg (nice but hard to pronounce nick!),

first of all:

- what is "my country"?

- or you can try by your own: with search pattern "srtm data "

Hi Sugeng Khfkhjgfjhgfjhgfjhgfjhg (not really cool btw.)

the *.hgt files are stored in ../Locus/data/srtm/*.hgt

search for files?

u can use the great google search engine

But Locus will do this automatically if you choose "download" in the "fill altitude" option.

AFAIR the automatic download works only in Locus Pro. Sugeng didn`t tell if he has it.

Yes, but only works in a place which has internet connection. :D

I`m in Indonesia. I have a look in NASA site. But I don`t know which one for my area. I want to download manually, and use it when I go to mountain (no internet).

...and now you like to download(!) without ?? ;D

at home with WiFi:

start Locus

create (manuallly) a track (around your target areas)

save it

select it

choose "fill altitude"

download files

done

Hi

You probably found NASA page for downloading SRTM data:

http://dds.cr.usgs.gov/srtm/version2_...

*.hgt files cover 1x1 degree and File names refer to the latitude and longitude of the lower left corner of the tile.

For example filename S07E106 says that lower left corner has WGS coordinates latitude= 7 degree(SOUTH) and longitude=106(EAST). Actually this file covers the area around Jakarta.

There is another site where you can download SRTM data.

http://www.viewfinderpanoramas.org/de...

http://www.viewfinderpanoramas.org/Co...

Viewfinder dataset is basically better then standard NASA dataset (filled holes, mountain correction).

Actually the easiest way how to download SRTM data for offline usage is using “fill altitude”function as gynta says.

Best regards

Petr
